Childhood Friend Heroine V1 Afterword

Afterword

Hello, nice to meet you all. I’m 3pu Sleep.

Thank you so much for picking up this book.

Without further ado, I’d like to talk about this work, “My Childhood Friend is Apparently the Main Heroine.”

This story was born from a question that struck me: Is true happiness really waiting beyond the happy ending?

To begin with, it’s impossible for an indecisive rom-com protagonist to remain unpopular even after graduating high school.

I mean, it’s only natural that the protagonist would have that level of appeal.

Also, it’s hard to believe that other heroines would give up after being rejected just once.

After all, the feelings these girls have for the protagonist aren’t small enough to be dismissed so easily.

Even after the story ends, there would surely be heroines who wouldn’t give up and would continue approaching him.

When pressed by such attractive heroines, could an indecisive protagonist really refuse?

 No, he probably couldn’t refuse.

 I mean, they’re beautiful girls.

If they said things like “Just once is fine” or “Please think of it as helping me,” he’d probably end up giving in, right?

Well, I’m a pure love advocate, so I’d absolutely refuse even if someone said that to me.

But character-wise, it’s not entirely impossible, is it?

So what would happen if something like that occurred?

This work is my attempt to give form to that question.

To be honest, when I posted it on the web, I thought it wouldn’t get much attention.

It didn’t have a long, web-friendly title, and it wasn’t a light, gag-style story you could breeze through.

I thought heavier stories wouldn’t be well-received, but to think it would take first place in the weekly rom-com rankings and win the grand prize in the Romance Comedy division of the 8th Kakuyomu Web Novel Contest.

 I honestly couldn’t believe it.

Actually, even now as I’m writing this afterword, I still can’t believe it.

I wonder every day if it’s all a dream.

But the fact that this book has reached everyone’s hands means it wasn’t a dream after all.

I’m truly grateful, though at the same time, I’m trembling with anxiety about what kind of impressions you all might have.

I’d be delighted if you found it entertaining.

Hoping we can meet again in the next volume, I’ll conclude here for now.

Finally, in publishing this book, I was greatly helped by Mr. A from the editorial department and illustrator Bcoca-san. I’d like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude.

 Thank you so much.

Well then, bye-bye. See you later.
